Interesting. Very well said.
I'm on it for general dystonia..i can barely move or do anything and i have a lot of tremors..i just want to work 😢
ua-cam.com/video/Vn4O6wrs72M/v-deo.htmlsi=HyPIuGBSgt_09qzd I don’t know
Amazing for alcohol withdrawal or even curing alcoholism. I've watched a few videos on it, mixed reviews but nobody talked how about how effective it is for detoxing and staying sober. I realize benzos are the gold standard for withdrawal but they won't cancel the cravings like gabapentin does.
I hate this drug. Crazy that they made a chemical that consistently makes people think about killing themselves
Gabapentin and Lyrica are the best to drugs for severe peripheral neuropathy
Thank you ❤
lol Doctors still haven't a damn _clue_ about epilepsy
What tests differentiate between these disorders
Do u prescribe it for migraines as well?
could using an inversion table help, or worsen, or cause orthostatic hypotension?
the only good video on the topic on youtube. thanks!
Do you have more information on Transient Epilepsy Amnesia, I’ve had At least 6 episodes now on lamotrogine Happy to be contacted
I take Keppra 1500 am and 2000 pm I'm on 4 seizure pill in all
Thank You for this information I’ve been taking this wrong for the last four years . I’ve always taken this with food. Thank You again !
The only time I have a seizures is when the battery stops working I have been seizure free for 30 years can't be around a microwave or metal detector because it messes with the battery my doctor told me that when he had it put in
I'm a musician and right away I saw that you have some righteous guitars, therefore I really put some stock in your explanation of lamictle, thank you sir
Taking keppra, you better have some patient family and friends. You will get pissed off for no reason at all.
Thanks for the video! Having Jake around to drill the bad energy might be beneficial as well. I have had the exact same breed for 17 years and he was curing me all the time with an acupuncture slaps to the lower extremeties so the blood to get upper a bit faster. Now after he is gone here I am seeking for help and advices.
Keppra is no joke i back handed a doctor after surgery then they put me on a diff med all good now
I know this is an older video but …. I just had a mri done of the brain …. During part of the scan my left side of my face started to twitch ( more than I have ever gotten within the last year . ) so … is that normal ?
I have questions too Cause this started this morning
@@JullianLue I know for me , mine are always there . ( the twitching ) but I have spasms all over and it might be neurological to an extent . - found out that I have twisting in the artery the goes behind the right ear ( so another scan needs to be done ) but also found out that I have occipital neuralgia ( only took 20 years to diagnose that ! ) looking into treatment options but … Talk to your doctor and see about a referral to neurology . Also look into physio to help with all the smaller support muscles .
This was SO helpful, thank you! Seriously ✌️
Is anybody on meds for this?? I was prescribed Keppra for 8 years (!) until another neurologist now put me on carbamazepine. Needless to say, I’m confused and scared, but at least my stores soon from taking Keppra is gone. Any suggestions???
I just had my third one over the last 8 years. I’m almost 67. First Keppra - misdiagnosed as seizures, and now I’m afraid to go off my new meds, even though I feel completely normal, except for when the episodes occur. The neurologist/psychiatrist determined within 15 minutes that I was bipolar, had temporal epilepsy, partial complex seizures and psychomotor seizures. The awesome Dr at the ER two days ago stated that I show no signs of an ‘seizure’ person. Sooo.. the guessing continues. Again… anybody on any meds for TGA? I’m afraid I’m doing my brain/body more harm than good by taking the meds, but I’m also afraid to go off of them.
My 15 year old is on 200mg lamictal for about 2 years now and is suddenly experiencing very bad insomnia. Only sleeps about 3 hours a night then wakes up every hour upon hour till he supposed to get up. We’ve done sleep study and done surgery to remove tonsils. Nothing has worked. Is it possible the insomnia would start after about a year and a half of use ?
Such a great teacher
How about Briviact? How long does someone need to be on these medications? Pharmacy says its a Schedule V (?) (don't know exactly, but a Schedule "?" drug (as a controlled substance)😬
I'm hoping to get approved to get VNS for TRD. Is the 'Robot voice' pretty common with this? If it works for me, I'm sure I'll get used to the side effects.
I have been on Keppra for over 25 years and it seems to work well with no side effects
In one way this is terrifying. I've used Dilantin for 35 years without any real problems except recently slight "bottom of foot' numbness. Recently, for the first time, my levels are not staying up as they once did. Gums, bones, muscles, brain function, etc seem to be fine (I'm 72 and a classical pianist, gardener, active, grandkids and pool, etc). My doctor has retired and my new doc is urging me to add another drug. Very unsure of what to do at this point.
I need to add that I feel like I’ve had a really good life thanks to the Dilantin. But I also feel one of the things that help me out aside from taking medication on a regular basis and working a physical job and being out in the sun and stuff like that is not drinking or drugging anymore. The combination of the medication and these other things have allowed me to have a 20 year period with no seizures. Then I worked on a fluorescent light that was flashing at work and that was the first seizure I had in 20 years. That was my mistake. I feel like I’m in a bad decision mode of if I take it it’s controlled if I don’t take it my body’s going to pot. But at 71 I think I’m very fortunate to have had the life that I do have. If there was anything I could take that would control my seizures. As good as Dilantin has I would take. But today it seems like the lesser of two evils. Thank you for your post very much
I am 70 years old take that back 71, I’ve been on Dilantin for probably 50 years. I am experiencing osteoporosis. I found this out after the bone density test I just recently took. I’ve often thought of it as the lesser of two evils. True if I could not, Take any medication that would be great. At this stage of my life I feel like I don’t have any other options. With Dilantin I wanna pay period of 20 years without a seizure. For this I am truly grateful. I did lose my teeth at an early age due to Dilantin I believe. I’ve kind of accepted the fact that I knew it also did a job on my bones. I found your video very comforting in a way. I don’t know if there is any suggestions you may have for someone my age. For I am truly thankful of my for my life today I’m going on another 10 years without a seizure thanks to Diane Dilantin. I did try to get off some of the medication and I had seizures. I also take mysoline 125 mg three times a day Dilantin 100 mg. When I was trying to reduce medication I only tried to reduce my mysoline .but had a few seizures. Thank you for your post.
Yesterday my father had a TGA. He woke up in the early morning wondering around the house, looking at the windows that were fitted few weeks ago... kept saying oh when did we fit those windows? did we pay for those? ... we were very scared... he looked "normal" but without fresh memories, and even the "old" were very confused, around the fog... He was quiet calm though. We though it was a odd case of stroke, as he was very recently admitted to hospital due to AF and he had a PPM fitted, just before Easter. We brought him to A&E..during his very short stay in hospital he was keeping asking why are we here? and I answered... and again after a single minute..why are we here? what am I supposed to do here? and again again again... he did bloods test and neurological consultation, had a CT scan to avoid stroke, everything normal... at the end of this odd journey we were told he was suffering from TGA and that he would have quickly and magically recovered. In fact when we were going home all the memories, short and old, were back to normal.. father 1 was taking over father 2.. he could not remember anything about this strange dream.. nothing, not a single moment. I am glad to see exactly what the medicine says and I strongly confirm every single shade of your video. I can't tell what caused this, maybe the mental stress due to his recent in patient stay as it was unespected for him. Anyway, thanks for your video!
I had an epilepsy attack a year ago - it was probably alcohol-related - could it happen again?
During sleep ?
@@ItshashreactionI had mine in the mornings just before I wake up
I live in North Carolina will you take me as a patient one time?
7:17 Thank you 🔥
Compression socks are not practical..both taking them on..and off..and leaving them on is uncomfortable too.
For those viewers on here that take this medication- since this video came out 5 years ago there is now an FDA recognized fatal problem that can ocurr in some. The abbreviation for this is HLH. You can look up lamictal induced HLH and get the full info on this. A police officer had been put on this med for bipolar disorder after only less than ten days got a fever of 103 degrees, muscle aches and pains and other problems. He saw a NP who said he had an infection and he was sent home on antibiotic. He didn't get better but by the time he was hospitalized it was too late. He died. You have to act on this quick as it can't be helped once you reach a certain point. This is scary. Patient told the doctors and NP he had just started lamictal. Be your own advocate. Stay informed and ask a lot of questions.
Can this be induced by a UTI?
I have had exactly what you describe four different episodes, two were sitting down and they came on as extreme dizziness, then blackout. From what you’ve said, that could be an indication of heart problems? My daughter took me to the emergency room and I was hospitalized overnightand they did every kind of test including an ultrasound of my heart. I’m going to see my doctor Monday regarding this. Do you have any suggestions as to what I should do?
My episodes happened four days ago.
i have a Question I have been on kapra 5 years already and now my Blood Pressure. wich was always very good. Suddenly started spiking to the point where I am alarm by it.
I've been on the lantern for 30 years, it seems over the last 4 years those long-term effects started hitting me first tinnitus, and then the loss of balance I walk around like I'm drunk these days so the VA is giving me lacosamide which I haven't started taking yet, they're giving me the Dilantin still and want me to go on both of them before they try to wean me off of the Dilantin which I'm on with low dose keppra, but it's been a lifesaver for so long, coming off of it means I can't even leave the house practically can't even leave the bedroom until I know things are stable. I've only had these side effects loss of balance coordination memory concentration for the last few years and to be honest I could live with them, if I knew they wouldn't just keep getting worse end permanent that's what I have to try to avoid and that's why I need to try to switch the medication period for those who don't know there's one person in here here in the comments somewhere that said after they quit the Dilantin these side effects of their which match mine did go away and that seal that I've got to make the transition stay strong everyone
Hi im 14 years old i think this is happening to me right now it feels like electricity is going through my face but there is one problem, it happens in my hands aswell can anyone tell why?
Speak to your parents asap
I take depakote and it works about 50 percent of the time even on the dose they have me on. i fall in the both category from a seizure TBI. At almost five years post coma I am noticing the side effects more from the drug and going to a new neurologist for more options on a "normal" haha life.

I’m 26. My tremors started after I took lexapro. I stopped after I had fully body tremors and was hospitalized. They went down but never fully went away. I get it mostly in my right leg. All the drs I’ve talked about said “side effects from the drug would have worn off by now so it’s not from the drug” even though that’s where it started. My dad just had an aneurysm and drs are listening to me now, I got approved to see a neurologist so see what’s going on
